POKOTABI / La Storia
La Storia
Located in a basement setting in Omotesando, La Storia offers around 30 wines by the glass alongside slow-simmered beef cheek and rich bolognese in a tranquil space.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Step down into the Kita-Aoyama basement, and softly lit counter and table seating quietly sets the tone. A defining draw of the wine bar La Storia is its broad lineup by the glass, spanning white, red, rosé, orange wine, and Champagne. With the sommelier on hand to suggest a pour tailored to your palate, it is an inviting stop for an evening spent sampling regional Italian and French bottles one glass at a time.
The food menu is crafted with equal care to complement the cellar. Among the favorites are the slow-simmered beef cheek braised in red wine and a bolognese sauce simmered in red wine and tossed with delicate taglionini. For lighter nibbles, a charcuterie assortment of prosciutto and salami or a selection of European cheeses lets you trace how different vintages and styles evolve with each bite.
Beyond the wine list, the bar stocks vintage vermouths, liqueurs, a wide array of brandies, and owner-crafted cocktails such as espresso martinis. To round off the evening on a sweet note, the house-made ruby chocolate ganache makes for a luscious finale.
